Connor Mc60: Oilers’ McDavid shocks hockey world with dramatic milestone goal

Connor McDavid rewarded fans for staying up late with a dramatic overtime winner to collect his 60th goal of the season.

The Oilers captain initially hit the post after teammate Leon Draisaitl sprung him for a breakaway with an incredible pass, but after Draisaitl won a puck battle McDavid got a second chance and didn’t miss. The Oilers defeated the Arizona Coyotes 4-3.

McDavid became the fastest player to score 60 goals during the Salary Cap Era, doing so in just 72 games. Even though the goal happened at 11:20 p.m. local time, fans took to social media to celebrate the incredible milestone.
