There is some hope and even excitement across the Tri-state area right now, as the New York Jets are heavily recruiting Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The Jets started the 2022 season 6-3, and although they won only one more game the rest of the way, they have a talented young roster that may simply need a high-level quarterback in order to take off.

Even if he wouldn’t make them a legitimate Super Bowl contender, he would become arguably the most high-profile QB they have ever had.

The Jets haven’t won a Super Bowl since the 1968 season, when Joe Namath famously guaranteed they would be victorious, then backed it up by leading them to a win over Johnny Unitas’ Baltimore Colts.

It came during an amazing two-year span in which the Jets, New York Mets, and New York Knicks all won world championships.

But since then, Jets fans have experienced nothing but disappointment and misery, as the team has cycled between one false prophet under center after another.

Most notably, one of them was another former Packer by the name of Brett Favre, who played for the Jets in 2008 after he came out of retirement and was told he would have to beat out Rodgers for the QB1 spot.

New York has multiple Pro Bowlers on defense, as well as both the Defensive Rookie of the Year and Offensive Rookie of the Year in Sauce Gardner and Garrett Wilson, respectively.

Rodgers saw his production drop in 2022, but if he were to join the Jets and feel revitalized, perhaps he would give them a much-needed shot in the arm.
