Fans of the Sacramento Kings entered the 2022-23 season with high hopes.

Because of the terrific players on the team and head coach Mike Brown, those fans have had their expectations met.

The team is the third-best team in the West and is having its best season in nearly two decades.

There are many reasons why the Kings are doing so well but special attention must be paid to Brown, who is enjoying his first year as the team’s coach.

Former player and current analyst Kendrick Perkins heaped praise on Brown via his Twitter account on Friday, saying “Mike Brown has completed changed that CULTURE in Sacramento.”

He went on to say that Brown has earned the Coach Of The Year award, echoing the sentiment that many NBA insiders and fans have.

Brown has experienced success coaching in the NBA before, leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to become Eastern Conference champions during the 2006-07 season.

Following his time with the Cavs, Brown moved on to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he experienced far less success.

After that and another brief stint with the Cavaliers, Brown spent time as the assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors.

Brown was then offered the position in Sacramento after working under Steve Kerr.

Some people would have scoffed at the chance to move from the reigning championship team to one that hadn’t even made the playoffs in years.

But Brown was ready to dive head first into the Kings and revamp the roster, the team’s style, and their chances of success.

Brown has been a breath of fresh air for the team and is taking them to new heights.
