The Los Angeles Rams appear to be looking to trim their payroll, and it has resulted in them releasing star linebacker Bobby Wagner this week.
In addition, there is growing speculation that they may also trade standout cornerback Jalen Ramsey, which would represent some wholesale changes to the squad that won the Super Bowl just a calendar year ago.
Ramsey took to Twitter to respond to that speculation.
The “story” sounds better than the truth sometimes I’ll admit that… I live in the truth tho. God is so great! I am blessed & highly favored! 🙏🏾

Although Ramsey’s play slipped a bit this season, he still made the Pro Bowl for the sixth straight season while recording 18 passes defended, four interceptions, and four passes defended.
If L.A. does indeed trade him, he should be a big boon for whichever team acquires him, and at age 28, he should be more than just a short-term solution.
After winning it all, the Rams were expected to be one of the front-running contenders for the world championship this season, but instead, they seemed to disintegrate before everyone’s eyes.
They had multiple injuries to key players, including quarterback Matthew Stafford and star wide receiver Cooper Kupp, and their offensive line was also a big problem.
After starting 3-3, they lost six in a row and finished with a 5-12 record in what was one of the worst title defenses anyone can remember seeing in any major team sport.
Losing both Wagner and Ramsey would be a major blow to L.A.’s hopes of winning another Super Bowl anytime soon, as the defense was rock-solid down the stretch of the 2021 season and held the Cincinnati Bengals in check during the Super Bowl.
