There are only about 24 hours to go before the Kansas City Chiefs face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII with their second world championship in the last four years on the line.

Such a legacy-defining moment could cause most men to be anxious and laden with fear and apprehension, but head coach Andy Reid had a simple, calming message to his players.

Kansas City got here by finishing with a 14-3 record, which was the best mark in the AFC and tied with the Eagles for the best record in the NFL, then getting past the Jacksonville Jaguars in the divisional round of the playoffs.

The AFC Championship Game was a rematch of last year’s conference title game between the Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals, when quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw an interception early in overtime, leading to a three-point Chiefs loss.

But this time, Mahomes made the big plays when needed and his team won by three points.

As of now, Philly is still slightly favored over Kansas City, but there is an extremely real possibility that Mahomes’ magic will overcome an Eagles team that has looked outstanding on both sides of the football all season.

Kansas City finished first in points, total yards, passing touchdowns and first downs, which will present Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni and defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon with quite a challenge.

Philly may appear to have the better team, at least on paper, but the Chiefs have the league MVP in Mahomes, and big games tend to be won by big-time players such as him.
