The Dallas Cowboys are having some kicking woes at the moment.

During their Monday Night Football playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, kicker Brett Maher missed four of his first five extra-point attempts.

After the game, there was much speculation about Maher and his future with the team, which, at the moment, seems to be safe.

Pending some sort of dramatic change during this week, it appears that the Cowboys will roll out Maher against the San Francisco 49ers despite his miscues during their first playoff game.

As long as the Cowboys’ offense continues to fire on all cylinders, they should be in a great spot to compete in any game.

Maher making all of his kicks would go a long way, especially against a team like the 49ers.

The 49ers have been the NFL’s best defense this season, and have proven that they will capitalize on any opportunity that the other team gives them.

It’s important that Maher is confident in his abilities, and with the Cowboys sticking with him, they are showing that they are confident in him as well.

Before their playoff game on Monday, Maher had only missed three extra points all season, and only missed three field goals in general.

His track record proceeds him, and although he had a rough game this week, the Cowboys are giving him a second chance that he deserves.

This week’s game should prove to be dramatic, with the winner of the game heading to the NFC Championship.
