Fans are clearly disappointed with the Chicago Bears and their performance this season.

They enter week 18 with a 3-13 record, putting them a half a game above the Houston Texans.

However, it might come as a surprise to fans where their season ranks in franchise history.

Does the NFL 2022-23 season mark the worst season for the Bears, or have there been worst seasons?

Bears Can Finish This Season With Their Worst Record Ever

With one game remaining this season, the Bears are on the cusp of having their worst record in franchise history.

A 3-14 record will bypass their previous low point in franchise history.

However, their previous low point was less than a decade ago.

It was the start of the 2016 season when the Bears saw their franchise have a total meltdown.

With the team losing Jay Cutler for the season, they shuffled between two quarterbacks to take over for him.

It led the Bears to a 3-13 season under John Fox.

The three-win season in 2016 was the first time during a 16-game season that the Bears won only three games.

However, with a loss on Sunday, the Bears will have the worst winning percentage in franchise history.

While the season can be the worst in franchise history, there is some silver lining around the clouds overhead in Chicago.

Their rookie players, Josh Blackwell, Braxton Jones, Jaquan Brisker, and Kyler Gordon are showing promise.

They also have Justin Fields who is making strides this season.

While there are plenty of things to disappoint fans this season, it’s not as bad as the John Fox 2016 season and their draft pick the following year.
