The New York Jets are having a wonderful season in 2022.

A fiery speech by head coach Robert Saleh has turned the Jets into winners.

However, with the Jets at 6-4, some are wondering if the team is a playoff contender.

The Jets Need A Change On Offense To Be Contenders

If the Jets want to be contenders, they need a change to their offense.

This change comes at the quarterback position, as Zach Wilson is hurting the Jets offense.

His turnovers, and lack of offense production, put the pressure on the team’s defense to shine.

While that defense is shining, the offense has been disappointing in the passing game.

However, the problem isn’t just with Wilson, as they lost their best running back to an ACL injury.

The Breece Hall injury took away a rookie who was hitting his stride during the season.

Without him, the running game is on the legs of Michael Carter, who isn’t as explosive as Hall.

While the Jets have a stellar defense, it will never be enough with the team’s issues on offense.

However, benching Wilson might work if Joe Flacco can lead the Jets’ offense.

He can produce better numbers in the passing game, as he has 901 passing yards and five touchdowns in three games.

Those numbers are better than Wilson’s 1,279 passing yards and four touchdowns in seven games.

While Flacco isn’t perfect, he’s a better quarterback this season over their current starting quarterback.

With one change, the Jets can become contenders with the defense they have.

However, sticking with Wilson will knock them out of the playoffs.
