Wow, what a day of Premier League football. A total of 21 goals was scored, with four of them being penalties, as Manchester City, Leeds United, Brighton and Hove Albion and Leicester City all secured important victories.

Leeds United 4-3 AFC Bournemouth
Crysencio Summerville scored the match-winning goal for the second successive game as Leeds edged out Bournemouth in this seven-goal thriller.
Despite Rodrigo putting the home side ahead after just three minutes, Jesse March’s men found themselves 2-1 down at the break as goals from Marcus Tavernier and Philip Billing fired the Cherries in front at Elland Road. Dominic Solanke then added a third for the away side in the 48th minute, and Bournemouth appeared to be cruising towards a comfortable victory.
But, two goals in the space of eight minutes from Sam Greenwood and Liam Cooper provided the game with yet another twist as Leeds showed incredible character to get themselves back level. Their comeback was completed in the 84th minute when Crysencio Summerville scored another last-gasp winner, just as he did seven days ago against Liverpool.
Back-to-back Premier League victories mean that Jesse March’s men climb to twelfth, whilst a fourth consecutive defeat for Bournemouth sees them fall to sixteenth, just one point above the relegation zone.
Manchester City 2-1 Fulham
Erling Haaland scored a dramatic late winner as ten-man Manchester City overcame a red card to beat Fulham at the Etihad.
With Haaland only fit enough for the bench, Julian Alvarez was once again handed the responsibility of leading the line, and just as he did midweek, he delivered, firing the hosts in front in the seventeenth minute. Most people would have likely expected the Sky Blues to run away with it from that point, however, Fulham had other ideas.
Following a red card shown to Joao Cancelo, Andreas Pereira calmly slotted the resulting penalty past Ederson to pull the visitors level in the 28th minute. Man City continued to dominate the match, and it was Fulham who looked as though they were down to 10 men, but the away side seemed to have done enough to earn a point.
Enter Erling Haaland. With the clock ticking and having already had a goal ruled out for offside, the Norwegian scored his eighteenth Premier League goal of the season after naive defending from Antonee Robinson gifted Pep Guardiola’s side a penalty late on.
The three points mean that City leapfrog Arsenal and move one point clear at the top of the table, whilst Fulham remain in eighth.

Nottingham Forest 2-2 Brentford
The goals continued to flow as Forest and Brentford played out an exhilarating 2-2 draw a The City Ground.
Summer signing Morgan Gibbs-White initially put the hosts ahead in the twentieth minute, however, Bryan Mbuemo scored the third penalty of the day to equalize for the Bees in added time at the end of the first half. Then, as the game edged closer to full time, Yoane Wissa scored what seemed to be the winning goal in the 75th minute for the away side.
But, much like the first two games, there was to be late drama in this fixture too. In the 96th minute, Mathias Jorgensen scored an own goal, gifting Nottingham Forest a point, and extending Thomas Frank’s side’s winless run to four in the Premier League.
The Draw means that Nottingham Forest remain at the foot of the table, whilst Brentford move level on points with Liverpool in tenth place.
Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-3 Brighton and Hove Albion
Brighton came from behind to secure the three points against Wolves thanks to an 83rd-minute winner from Pascal Gross.
Roberto De Zerbi’s men initially took the lead in the tenth minute through Adam Lallana, but were pegged back just two minutes later when Goncalo Guedes equalised for the home side. Remarkably, Wolves captain Ruben Neves then scored the fourth penalty of the day in the 35th minute to fire his side into the lead.
However, they too could not hold onto their lead, and Kaoru Mitoma scored the second equalizer of the match on the stroke of half-time to ensure that the Seagulls went into the second-half level.
The match was heading towards a 2-2 draw, a result that given the chaotic nature of the game, both managers probably would have been happy with, only for Pascal Gross to bag his fifth goal of the season and seal the away side’s second victory in a week.
The win means that Brighton, despite losing Graham Potter, break into the Premier League top six, and are just three points adrift of the top four. For Wolves though, a fourth game without a win leaves them languishing in nineteenth place.

Everton 0-2 Leicester City
Brendan Rodgers’ men are firing again, and they claimed their fourth win in seven matches as a sublime strike from Youri Tielamans helped the Foxes secure a 2-0 victory against the Toffees.
It would appear that Tielamans and his compatriot Kevin De Bruyne are locked in their own personal battle for the goal of the season, with at least one of the pair scoring another contender seemingly every week. This time, it was the turn of the Leicester man, whose delicious volley put his side 1-0 up on the cusp of halftime.
Brendan Rodgers will be thrilled with the defensive solidity his side displayed in this game, as they marshalled Everton excellently throughout – something which they have often struggled to do this season. With the game still at 1-0 however, the result was still in jeopardy, and Harvey Barnes’ goal in the 86th minute made the final few minutes much more comfortable for the travelling away fans.
Leicester’s third win in four games sees them rise to thirteenth, whilst Everton slip to fifteenth.
