The Miami Dolphins have been a different team without quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Their backup quarterbacks are having problems playing to the level of the Dolphins’ young starting QB.

While Tagovailoa returns to action against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team has suffered without him.

So how bad are the Dolphins without their star QB?

Miscues And Errors From Backup QBs Have Miami In A Dangerous Position

After starting 3-1 with Tua leading the offense, the Dolphins have lost their last two games.

His backup QBs have fewer passing yards and a worse QBR in the two games they have started.

They are also scoring eight fewer points per game, something that’s preventing them from having a better record.

However, it’s the three interceptions in their two starts which have hurt the Dolphins the most.

With turnovers being an issue, the Dolphins offense is suffering from those mistakes.

Also, miscues in the passing game by Teddy Bridgewater have prevented wide-open receivers from getting passes.

While receivers get open, Bridgewater was throwing the ball behind his receivers.

When you add those mistakes together, along with the lower points, it’s a recipe for disaster.

That disaster now puts the Dolphins in a terrible place in the AFC East standings.

Dolphins Need Tua More Than Ever

Before Tua’s injury, he was on top of the league.

However, he needs to make a statement with his return.

While the Dolphins are down in the AFC East standings, they are still playoff contenders.

If they lose their star QB again, they might miss out on the playoffs.

It’s why the Dolphins need their QB now more than ever before.
