Report: Cowboys owner Jones to Patriots owner Kraft: ‘Don’t (expletive) with me’

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay reportedly wasn’t the only NFL owner to rip one of his counterparts at the league’s fall meetings on Tuesday.

ESPN reported Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft exchanged fighting words during a vote about compensation for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

ESPN reports NFL owners voted 31-1 to allow the compensation committee to open negotiations with Goodell on a new contract with Jones the lone owner to go against the majority.

During the talks, ESPN says Jones told Kraft: “Don’t f— with me.”

Kraft then said “excuse me?” with Jones replying “don’t mess with me.”

ESPN says Jones is concerned about Goodell’s proposed bonus pool in a new contract.

The New York Times reported last year that Goodell made $128 million total for 2020 and ’21.

Jones is widely considered one of the most powerful owners in North American sports, while Kraft has led the most successful franchise on the field this century.

Irsay made headlines earlier in the day when he said the league there’s “merit to remove” Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder.

Snyder’s status has been widely debated for years amid several scandals and investigations into workplace conduct in Washington.
