In more ways than one, New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge is a superhero.

He is the best player on one of the nation’s best teams: naturally, thousands of kids around the world look up to him and want to be like him.

He is even a superhero for most Yankees fans, no matter the age.

The team has had periods in which they play like minor leaguers and lose inexplicable games.

But not Judge: he has been steady, consistent, and trustworthy, and fans appreciate those traits.

A journalist even went as far as comparing Judge with a household name in the superhero universe: Clark Kent, the man behind Superman.

“Aaron Judge was adopted by great parents in a small agricultural town. Clark Kent story. He is modest, self-effacing, then puts on his uniform,” Scott Simon tweeted.

The comparison is certainly interesting if we get creative.

Judge Is Superman In The Minds Of Yankees Fans

When compared to his peers, Judge has superpowers.

No, really, his power is superb: his 62 home runs are way ahead of the league’s second-placed hitter, Kyle Schwarber, who has 46.

He also keeps a low profile, much like Kent, and puts on the uniform and always delivers when needed.

The Yankees playoff hopes rest on Judge’s broad shoulders, and he knows that the job, despite his individual accomplishments at the end of the season, is not finished.

Yankees fans are hungry for success: they haven’t won the World Series since 2009.

Judge will be tasked with putting some runs on the scoreboard every time he steps on the plate.

He will always be associated with high expectations.

Will he be able to deliver this time?
