When Dak Prescott went down with a broken thumb in Week 1, the season outlook looked bleak for the Dallas Cowboys.

Cooper Rush was going to step in as the QB1 in Dallas and no one knew what to expect.

Well, after two weeks with Rush as the starter, it is hard not to be impressed.

Rush has led the Cowboys to a 2-0 record in his two starts, defeating both the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Giants.

In the second half of this Week 3 game against the Giants, Rush was unbelievable.

He completed 12 of 13 passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns in the second half.

The Cowboys’ coaching staff seems to trust Rush throwing the ball.

In two starts, he has 62 pass attempts.

In comparison, Bears QB Justin Fields has 45 pass attempts in three games.

That is what not trusting your QB looks like.

Dallas has faith in Rush that he will make the right play and continue to lead the offense while Prescott is out.

Plenty of credit needs to go to both Mike McCarthy and Kellen Moore.

The head coach and offensive coordinator in Dallas have gotten the most out of this Rush-led offense.

The Cowboys have now scored 20 and 23 points in both games with Rush and that is good enough to win thanks to their great defense.

In three starts in his career, the 28-year-old Rush is now 3-0 and looks like a quality starter.

Despite the play of Rush, whenever Prescott is ready to go he will be back in the lineup.

There is no QB controversy to see here as Prescott has successfully led this Dallas offense for years.

Rushing To Wins

Dallas now hosts the Washington Commanders in Week 4 and has a chance to improve to 3-1.

This game will be another great chance for the defense to dominate the game early.

Washington just gave up nine sacks in Week 3 and now this Cowboys’ pass rush will be salivating at the opportunity.

Dallas defense leads the NFL in sacks through three weeks and Micah Parsons is a big reason why.

The second-year star may be the best defensive player in the NFL and makes a huge impact every week.

The Cowboys’ defense has been so good they have only allowed three touchdowns this season.

While Rush has been the one leading the offense, the Cowboys have plenty of other playmakers that are stepping up.

CeeDee Lamb had a brutal drop in the first half of their game against the Giants.,

But, in the second half, Lamb turned it around and dominated for the Cowboys on what turned into the game-winning touchdown drive.

Lamb will continue to be targeted plenty each week and should continue to produce.

Running backs Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott are a dynamic duo that each bring a different look to the offense.

Pollard is the more explosive player and Elliott is the bruiser who pounds the ball between the tackles.

Those two ran the ball 28 times for 178 yards against the Giants and helped the offense extend plenty of drives.

The offensive line seems to be steadily improving and that will be key, especially when Prescott gets back.

Dallas’ defense should continue to dominate as the year goes on and the offense will continue to get better as they get healthier.

Over the past two weeks, Rush has been fantastic and deserves tons of credit for the Cowboys’ 2-1 start.
