The NFL regular season is in full swing, and teams are excited to get back to football.

However, the New York Jets are one team facing an uphill battle early in 2022.

This comes from them losing second-year QB Zach Wilson for at least three games this season.

With Wilson out, veteran QB Joe Flacco is taking over in New York.

While some might doubt Flacco, he’s got a huge reason to give the Jets an opening day win.

Week One Has Flacco Facing His Former Team

The best years of Flacco’s career came while he was quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens.

However, the team ditched him for Lamar Jackson, their current starting QB.

Flacco can use this as fuel for a revenge game against his former team.

With C. J. Mosley being another big name Ravens player on the Jets roster, he too can get revenge on his former team.

But it’s Flacco who has the spotlight on him.

Ravens fans who love Jackson see Flacco as a has-been QB.

If the Ravens defense feels the same way, he can take advantage of this fatal flaw.

However, the task is still a little tough, as he doesn’t have a solid running back or receiving core.

But if Flacco can put together a string of solid drives, the Ravens can easily be on the ropes.

Jets Defense Needs To Contain Jackson To Ensure Victory

Jackson hasn’t been an MVP-like quarterback since winning the title in 2019.

Since then, he finished the 2020 season in last place for passing yards for his team.

His 2021 season was worse, as an injury ended his season.

He also threw double digit interceptions in that year.

However, the 2022 season can easily be his worst season, leaving the Jets with an opportunity to capitalize.

With Jackson having few offensive weapons, he’ll need to do more with the ball.

This means the Jets defense could see him rushing the ball more than he passes it.

But if they can contain him, it can easily ruin any chances of the Ravens winning.

The Ravens offense is currently one-dimensional, with Jackson as their only threat.

Locking him down is all the Jets need to accomplish if they want to win.

Jets Can’t Let Pressure Get To Them If They Want A Win

It’s all about the pressure with the Jets coming into the 2022 NFL season.

While they haven’t made the postseason in over a decade, they can at least give fans some hope with a win on Sunday.

A win over Baltimore is a huge upset victory.

However, that victory requires their veteran players to help the rookies keep from falling under the pressure of winning.

Flacco and Mosley are the two key players who can settle the pressure in New York.

They know this Ravens team, meaning they can use the knowledge to help the Jets.

Doing these things can give the Jets just enough hope to get a win.

That, and a complete meltdown of the Ravens defense is all it will take to score an upset victory.
