Trea Turner is one of the major shortstops that will be hitting the free agent market this winter.

If this is his final stretch with the Los Angeles Dodgers, then he’s certainly making the most of it.

Last night, he reached an all-important milestone as the Dodgers finished off a series win over the Miami Marlins.

Turner picked up his 1,000th career hit and 231st as a member of the Dodgers in last night’s 3-2 victory at loanDepot Park in Miami.

The 29-year-old is hitting .311 with 18 home runs, 86 RBI, and an impressive .843 OPS.

Turner is in his second season with the Dodgers after being acquired last year at the trade deadline from the Washington Nationals along with Max Scherzer.

Turner Reaches 1,000 Hits

This is an important accomplishment for Turner, who is still a relatively young player.

It’s always important when a player reaches a milestone.

In Turner’s case, that was hit No. 1,000 for his career.

The fact that he’s already picked up 231 hits in his limited time as a Dodger is impressive too.

Last night was his 179th career game as a member of the Dodgers.

He’s putting together yet another solid season this year.

He also was a National League All-Star for the second time in his career.

Turner ultimately had two hits in last night’s win over the Marlins, with his second hit being the one that put him at 1,000 for his career.

Turner has had a pretty successful career thus far and is only getting better as time goes on.

1,000 hits is a nice accomplishment, but Turner sure isn’t done after that one.

We’ll see if his next milestone comes with the Dodgers or with another team.
