Downtown San Antonio is less than 10 minutes away, as is the Alamo Mission. Austin is nearly an hour-and-a-half drive; Houston is about three and a half hours away.

Bethel, about 70 miles northwest of Portland, is a quaint town with easy access to popular ski areas: Sunday River, the second-largest ski resort in Maine, is 15 minutes away; Wildcat Mountain is about 45 minutes away, in New Hampshire.
