Much is left to be desired after the rookie season of New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson.

The former Brigham Young University standout did have 2,331 yards and nine touchdowns in his first NFL campaign.

However, the rooms for improvement are plenty after completing just 55.6 percent of his passes and throwing 11 interceptions.

Wilson won only three out of 13 games played in 2021.

But he would like to put those struggles in the past and start anew in 2022.

Luckily, the team gave him another target in Garrett Wilson who they selected in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Jets also brought in tight end C.J. Uzomah for some leadership and Breece Hall for versatility on offense.

Likewise, Elijah Moore is one of the targets that Wilson must activate for them to have success.

Moore was taken in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft and finished with 538 yards to go with five touchdowns.

His best game came against the Miami Dolphins in Week 11 wherein he had 141 yards and a touchdown.

The former Ole Miss standout also had an 84-yard, two-touchdown game versus the Indianapolis Colts.

As a preview of what might come, here’s Wilson completing a pass to Moore.

Wilson ran a play-action with Michael Carter to catch defensive lineman Bryce Huff off-guard.

From there, he found the streaking Moore who had to stretch for the catch.

A Tough Opening Schedule For The Jets

They will need more of that play to succeed in the first four weeks of the 2022 season.

However, they might have a hard time because they will be facing AFC North teams.

The Jets will face the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1 and the Cleveland Browns in Week 2.

Then they play the Cincinnati Bengals at home in Week 3 and the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road in Week 4.

With that division being one of the toughest in the league, the Jets will have their hands full to start the season.
