United States’s food industry IT recruitment activity drops 5.1% in June 2022


The US’s food industry registered a 5.1% drop in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 42.76% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.

Out of the food industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 0.79% share in June 2022, recording a decrease of 0.24% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s food industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.69% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food industry in June 2022.

1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 24.07% in June 2022, registering a 16.13% decline over the previous month.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 23.77% share, a decrease of 30.63% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 23.15%, registering a 9.64% decline from May 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 14.51%, up 46.88% over the previous month.

Top five food companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 22.75% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food industry during June 2022 over May 2022.

The J. R. Simplot posted 99 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a rise of 80% over the previous month, followed by Rich Products with 38 jobs and a 5% drop. Bunge with 28 IT jobs and HelloFresh with 20 jobs, recorded a 3.45% decline and a 5.26% growth, respectively, while JBS recorded a decline of 16.67% with 20 job postings during June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.36%, down by 11.16% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.28% share, registered a decline of 15.15% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.58% share, down 16.98% over May 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.78%, recording a month-on-month decline of 18.18%.
