Journeyman outfielder Tommy Pham was claimed off of waivers by the Kansas City Royals on Saturday.

Pham started the season with the Chicago White Sox and was acquired by the St. Louis Cardinals at the trade deadline in a three-team deal that also involved the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The 36-year-old hit just .206 at the plate with two runs in 23 games with the Cardinals, who placed him on waivers Thursday.

The Royals will be Pham’s seventh different team since the start of the 2022 season.

Kansas City also claimed outfielder Robbie Grossman off waivers from the Texas Rangers.

Grossman, 34, started the year with the White Sox as well and was traded to the Rangers in May. The 34-year-old is batting .227 with three home runs and 14 RBIs this season.

Both Pham and Grossman are expected to report to the Royals on Sunday.

Kansas City also designated infielder CJ Alexander and catcher Austin Nola have been designated for assignment.

The Royals (75-61) are in the second wild-card spot and 2.5 games back of the division-leading Cleveland Guardians.
