Snow Is Expected For NFL Playoff Game On Sunday

Playoff time in the NFL means what people refer to as football weather, and that can mean much more than simply frigid conditions.

All four of the league’s divisional round games this weekend will be played in cities that have cold winters, but one of those games will be played in inclement conditions.

When the Philadelphia Eagles host the Los Angeles Rams at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday afternoon, it will be snowing in the Delaware Valley area, per Dov Kleiman.

As anyone who is a native of Pennsylvania or South Jersey can attest to, winters in that area can be very rough, but they can make for some idyllic football conditions.

Assuming it does indeed snow during Sunday’s game, that will favor the Eagles, not just because they’re used to such weather, but also because they have running back Saquon Barkley, who is having a season for the ages.

He became one of a handful of players to rush for 2,000 yards this season, and in this past Sunday’s wild-card win over the Green Bay Packers, he ran for 119 yards.

While the Rams have a strong running back themselves in Kyren Williams, who ran for 1,299 yards and 14 touchdowns during the regular season, he simply isn’t on the same level as Barkley.

Philly is becoming a dark horse Super Bowl contender these days, and with snowy weather expected this weekend, their defense, which ranked second in points allowed and tops in total yards given up, could send them to the NFC Championship Game.
