Stars’ Hintz questionable to return vs. Maple Leafs with upper-body injury

The Dallas Stars lost forward Roope Hintz during the first period of Tuesday night’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the forward is officially questionable to return due to an upper-body injury.

The team made the announcement after the second period started.

Hintz played just four shifts, logged 2:27 seconds of ice time and was on the ice for Toronto’s first goal of the game. It’s unclear how the injury occurred.

The 28-year-old forward entered Tuesday with 19 goals and eight assists in 41 games for Dallas this season.

Despite having logged 337 points in 433 career games over seven NHL seasons, Hintz continues to face somewhat of a curse against the Maple Leafs. Toronto is the only non-Dallas franchise that the six-foot-three Finn hasn’t recorded a point against in his career.

The Stars currently sit third in the Central Division with a 27-14-1 record.
