Insider Names ‘Sleeper Team’ To Watch In Jimmy Butler Pursuit

Despite his best efforts, Jimmy Butler remains a member of the Miami Heat.

He wants to leave the team, but the Heat haven’t created a trade for him and it seems like they may sit on his contract and force him to play for the rest of the season.

Butler has been linked to numerous teams since he requested his trade, from the Phoenix Suns to the Memphis Grizzlies.

According to Sam Amick, per Evan Sidery, the Milwaukee Bucks are a “sleeper team” to watch in the pursuit of Butler.

Sidery noted:

“Butler’s camp, contrary to other reports, hasn’t told Milwaukee he would not be interested in playing there.”

The Bucks haven’t been mentioned yet when it comes to the Butler rumors but they are apparently somehow in the mix.

Is there a real chance of them landing him or is this yet another team that won’t be able to get a deal done?

Butler wants to play for a team that can win now and the Bucks are definitely playoff contenders.

They could get even better with Butler on board, and he could be happy there, especially playing alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.

Ironically, Lillard tried to move to the Miami Heat when his days of being with the Portland Trail Blazers came to an end, so he would have performed with Butler then, although a trade never came together.

Will they get the chance to be teammates now?

There is no guarantee the Heat will even listen to offers from the Bucks because they seem content to keep Butler on board for a bit longer.

If the Bucks want Butler, they will have to get to work right away.
