After two very frustrating years with the Denver Broncos in 2022 and 2023, quarterback Russell Wilson had a slightly better 2024 with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
But although he returned to the playoffs, it was still a disappointing finish for him, as his Pittsburgh Steelers got rolled by the Baltimore Ravens over the weekend in the wild-card round of the playoffs.
With a few months to go before OTAs start, Wilson was seen already getting ready for next season, per Dov Kleiman.

There was a time when Wilson was one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks back when he was with the Seattle Seahawks, and he led the franchise to the Super Bowl championship during the 2013 season while nearly winning another one the following year.
His game has significantly declined in recent years, and while he hasn’t played as poorly as he did in 2022, the Steelers may need to upgrade from him in order to return to their accustomed place as one of the league’s elite teams.
He signed a one-year contract with them last offseason, which means he will be a free agent soon, and with Pittsburgh backup QB Justin Fields also about to become a free agent, there is speculation about what the team may do at that position.
Their draft status (they will have the No. 21 pick in the first round), in all likelihood, will prevent them from getting a legitimate franchise signal-caller there, so it remains to be seen what they will do in order to find someone who will be a worthy successor to Ben Roethlisberger.
