The Kansas City Chiefs have a playoff bye after finishing the regular season with a 15-2 record.
In the final week of the regular season, head coach Andy Reid decided to rest most of his starters against the Denver Broncos, who ultimately defeated Kansas City.
The Broncos winning means the Cincinnati Bengals are now eliminated from playoff contention.
Some people on social media think the Chiefs lost to the Broncos on purpose so they wouldn’t have to face the Bengals.
Chiefs All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce responded to that take while on “New Heights.”
“I ain’t scared of f****** nobody. I wanted them in the f***ing playoffs. I want to slay every dragon one by one,” Kelce said.
“The Chiefs lost on purpose to keep the Bengals out of the playoffs!!!”

The Chiefs and Bengals have had some great battles in the regular season and the playoffs over the years.
Both have split the last six matchups over the last three seasons.
However, the notion that the Chiefs lost on purpose just so the Bengals couldn’t get in is a little too wild for the simple NFL mind to comprehend.
Also, if it weren’t for a blocked field goal at the buzzer, the Broncos would have upset the Chiefs at home earlier in the season.
Whoever the Chiefs face in the playoffs, they will be a good team because it’s the playoffs.
But it simply doesn’t make sense to say that a championship-minded team like the Chiefs lost on purpose to avoid facing another team.
