Granarolo invests in new UK head office

Italian dairy major Granarolo is building a new head office and distribution centre in the UK.

The company is investing £10m ($12.5m) in the construction of the new building for its subsidiary Granarolo UK.

The site, located in Willenhall, in England’s West Midlands, will also be used by subsidiary Midland Chilled Foods, a food wholesaler.

The new head office is set to open in the fourth quarter of this year, with built-in flexibility for future expansion to accommodate growing business needs.

The dairy firm said the investment is necessary because of a fire that happened in 2023. Just Food understands that the company’s UK headquartered burned down in January of that year.

Granarolo said the new head office and distribution centre “will provide a larger footprint for expansion and future development”.

The new facility will feature advanced frozen, chilled, and ambient storage and distribution capabilities, boasting space for more than 4,500 pallets.

Anthony Bosco, CEO of Granarolo UK said the move not only drives the company’s operational capabilities forward but also “allows us to better serve our clients and engage with them in meaningful ways”.

The new development includes various environmental initiatives, such as the installation of solar panels to reduce the company’s carbon dioxide emissions by more than 50 tonnes each year.
