Warriors Have Reportedly Made A Decision About Pursuing Jimmy Butler

The NBA world is waiting to hear more news about the future of Jimmy Butler, now that he has made it clear that he wants to leave the Miami Heat.

Butler reportedly has a few desired destinations in mind, including the Golden State Warriors.

But it sounds like he will have to make adjustments to those expectations.

According to The Athletic, via NBACentral, the Warriors are “unlikely to pursue Jimmy Butler and would prefer to keep Andrew Wiggins and Jonathan Kuminga.”

The reporting said:

“While acknowledging Butler’s ability, sources inside the locker room (and the Warriors’ coaching staff and front office) would rather keep their two best wings than acquire Butler.”

Some reports said the Warriors and Phoenix Suns were Butler’s two top choices, but now one of them is off the table.

So, where does that leave him?

The Heat might make a deal with the Suns, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, or other squads that have been talked about.

Of course, Miami could also elect to ignore all of them and simply choose a trade partner who offers the best deal.

They are surely quite upset with Butler’s attitude and actions so they probably aren’t very interested in giving him what he wants.

This means he might end up on a team that isn’t alluring to him.

Many fans have wondered what the Warriors would do with Wiggins and Kuminga but it sounds like they prefer them over Butler.

This complicates his plans, but his quest to leave the Heat continues.
