The New York Jets are set to interview Mike Vrabel, the former Tennessee Titans head coach and former Cleveland Browns consultant, for their head coach opening.
According to insider Zack Rosenblatt, Vrabel is at the Jets’ facility today and is interested in becoming the team’s next head coach.
This could be a massive hire if owner Woody Johnson and Co. can get that done, but they are also in the process of searching for a new general manager.
The #Jets will interview Mike Vrabel at the facility today.
Over the last five months, I spent extensive time with Vrabel as he worked for the Browns. He reflected on his Titans tenure — and opened up about what he wants next.

The Jets desperately need to bring in an experienced head coach and former player like Vrabel.
The former New England Patriot and three-time Super Bowl champion spent six seasons as the head coach of the Titans (2018-2023).
While in the Music City, he guided the team to four winning seasons, multiple AFC South titles, and an AFC Championship appearance.
When he played for the Patriots in the past, he was also an All-Pro edge rusher (he had 12.5 sacks in 2007).
So, he has the mind of both a player and a head coach.
As great of a player as Aaron Rodgers is at quarterback, even the future Hall of Fame signal-caller could not save this team from faltering in a lot of big moments.
Bringing in an experienced leader like Mike Vrabel could give this team an edge and a little bit more reserve, which has been missing for a long time.
Time will tell whether or not the Jets can land the big fish in Vrabel before anyone else can.
