Quinn brings the PB&J sandwich to pretzels
Natural snack food maker Quinn is bringing a new twist to the iconic peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
The Colorado company is launching Quinn PB&J Berry Pretzel Nuggets. The snacks are certified gluten-free, Non-GMO Project Verified and vegan. They are also made without corn, soy, wheat or dairy.
“Growing up I ate a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches,” Kristy Lewis, Quinn’s founder, said in a statement. “I ate them for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or as an on-the-go snack! It was my fuel during car trips, school lunches, and during the after-school shuffle.”
Lewis noted her “go-to” was a mix of strawberry and raspberry jellies, combined with creamy peanut butter on whole-wheat bread. This served as the inspiration behind Quinn’s PB&J Berry Pretzel Nuggets.
The average American eats almost 3,000 PB&Js in their lifetime, and the average adult eats one three times a month, according to data from the National Peanut Board.
By turning to PB&J for its latest product launch, Quinn is tapping into a popular flavor that will resonate with many adults and children. The 15-year-old brand also will benefit from the portability and snackability trends popular with on-the-go consumers.

Diageo dips Baileys into chocolate
Ahead of Valentine’s Day, a popular beverage brand is collaborating on an indulgent product designed for consumers looking for a sweet treat.
The brand announced the launch of Dolci Frutta Baileys Irish Cream Flavored Melting Wafers. The dessert brings a nonalcoholic version of the liqueur’s flavor into a chocolate sauce that can be melted in the microwave and hardens at room temperature, designed for dipping or drizzling on foods.
According to the press release, the product has a variety of applications like dipping strawberries in it or adding it to sundaes and cakes. Dolci Frutta, owned by Saco Foods, is best known for its hard-shell dessert toppings.
The melting wafers are available now at grocery stores and online.
Baileys was first introduced in Ireland in 1974, combining whiskey, cream and cocoa to create a decadent, sweet brew.
By licensing its flavors and intellectual property, Guiness maker Diageo has expanded the reach of its iconic brands beyond beverages into the food and dessert categories. In 2018, Baileys appeared in chocolate baking chips. The following year, the brand collaborated with Kraft Heinz on a line of coffee products, including a ready-to-drink Salted Caramel Cold Brew.
