The New York Jets have a lot of work to do this offseason if they are to become a respectable NFL team as soon as this coming fall, and one of the first things on their to-do list is hiring a competent general manager.
They fired Joe Douglas from that role earlier this season, and it will take the right team-building philosophy and skills to get the Jets to the playoffs for the first time since the 2010 season.
According to the organization, it has already interviewed Louis Riddick for that vacant general manager spot.
We have completed an interview with Louis Riddick for our General Manager vacancy.

Riddick is an interesting candidate, as he has never been an NFL general manager but has been a scout for both the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles and a director of pro personnel for the Eagles.
In the 1990s, he played six seasons in the NFL as a reserve defensive back for the Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns and Oakland Raiders.
After he was done as a front office worker, he became an analyst for ESPN, and in recent years, he has been discussed as a general manager candidate.
The Jets have to decide what to do at the quarterback position, where 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers is clearly in decline and has plenty of baggage.
Rodgers isn’t sure if he wants to return for the 2025 season, and other than that, they have some other roster holes they will need to rectify.
