NBA legend and former Chicago Bulls MVP Derrick Rose retired this offseason after playing 15 seasons in the league.

Now, the 36-year-old is starting his next phase of life.

That phase of life involves him opening up a flower shop in the city of Chicago.

In a recent video posted by CHSN, a long line of Derrick Rose fans has formed outside of the shop and goes around the corner.

It might be hard to find an athlete who is more beloved in his or her city than Derrick Rose is in the city of Chicago.

A Windy City native, Rose spent seven seasons playing for his hometown Bulls (2008-2016) and took the team to heights that it had not been since Michael Jordan and Co. were around.

Rose made three All-Star appearances and took the team to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2011, which also happened to be the year that he won the MVP.

He won the MVP at just 22 years of age, which is still an NBA record.

If he had not gotten hurt and battled injuries throughout most of his long career, perhaps he could have guided the Bulls to a championship or two.

But still, those who follow the game and those who call Chicago home know that Derrick Rose was as tough a player as there was to play against at his best.

Now, he can enjoy retirement as a business owner and a legend in his hometown.

It can’t get much better than that for a former player.
