Jeremy Renner is marking a very special occasion: his “ReBirthday.”
That’s how the Avengers star referred to the anniversary of his New Year’s Day 2023 snowplow accident as he reflected on the gruesome incident on social media.
“I send out my love, respect and gratitude for the army of people that it took to put me back together again,” he wrote on Instagram Jan. 1 alongside a photo of himself in his hospital bed surrounded by medical staff and loved ones. “Thank you to each and every nurse, doctor, first responder… I literally owe you my life.”
The 2023 accident occurred after Jeremy—who turns 54 Jan. 7—towed a truck that was stuck in the snow on his driveway using a PistenBully snow groomer, according to an incident report from the Nevada sheriff’s office obtained by E! News at the time. When the machine began to slide, he exited the snowplow and was pulled under while attempting to stop it from hitting his nephew, Alexander Fries, per the report.
