Analyst Believes Cardinals Could Make Surprising Move With Kyler Murray

The Arizona Cardinals watched a potential win slip through their fingers against the Los Angeles Rams – a victory that would have not only secured a season sweep but thrown the NFC playoff picture into delicious chaos.

Instead, questionable play calls, sloppy execution, and an inability to close out games have pushed them to a 7-9 record, with hopes of a strong season finish fading fast.

As the Cardinals stumble toward the season’s end, several players and coaches find themselves on shaky ground.

Among them is quarterback Kyler Murray, whose future in Arizona has become a hot topic, particularly catching the attention of NFL analyst Colin Cowherd.

On his podcast, Cowherd didn’t hold back, addressing long-standing concerns about Murray’s work ethic.

He reflected on his previous defense of Murray, having once considered him more talented than Russell Wilson, praising his elusiveness and arm strength.

However, Murray’s recent six-game stretch has painted a different picture – just five touchdowns against eight interceptions, with a passer rating languishing in the 70s.

“If you got him the right team, I think Arizona is going to have a discussion to see if they can move him. I really do,” Cowherd stated.

He added, “It’s a really weak draft. I think Kyler Murray last year, you’re not getting much. Kyler Murray, next year, you may not get much. Kyler Murray in this draft. I think you can get a number one.”

The Week 17 loss to the Rams only strengthened Cowherd’s stance, as Murray threw two interceptions in a touchdown-less performance.

This showing has Cowherd convinced that the Cardinals might seriously consider trading Murray if the right opportunity presents itself.

The case questioning Murray’s future isn’t complicated. His undersized frame already puts him at a physical disadvantage against NFL defenders, and his season-long consistency remains an issue.

Murray typically starts strong but tends to fade as the season progresses.
