According to the NICU bills, this guy above was my most expensive [and worth it] purchase of the year 😉 However, if it’s more material things we’re talking about, I’ve also got a list for that! 2024 was a year of trying out some new trends [goodbye skinny jeans] and also a year of investing in some products that give a little more meaning and intentionality to life [see my fave Amazon + health and wellness purchase!]
Without further ado, I present to you the top of the tops..the greatest of the greatest..and my favorite items I’d tell all of my girlfriends about [hi, that’s you!]
They were my first pair of dipping my legs into the wide-leg trend and they were the perfect first pair to get started with. Not too wide, not too skinny, and I love that they come in petite for those of us 5’4 and under!
Nike Waffle Debut Sneaker [true to size]
Not only are they so comfortable, but they are flattering [and narrowing] on the foot. They pair easily with jeans, leggings, shorts, etc!
Dolce Vita Platform Sandals [true to size]
Out of all of the shoes from the year, I wore these the most! They are so comfortable and easy to just slide in and out of! I love the hammered gold hardware to give ’em a little something extra!
Divi Scalp Serum // Divi Dry Shampoo
‘Twas the year of postpartum hair loss [and hair re-growth thanks to this scalp serum]! I will forever be hooked on this Divi scalp serum for helping fill in the gaps of thinning hair! I use a few drops on my scalp after every time I wash my hair and it works like a charm! Bonus: it smells and feels great on the scalp as well!
I originally bought this Vitamin E oil after a friend recommended it to help with stretch marks while pregnant, however, I started using it on my face every night and absolutely love the results! It has helped my skin seem more youthful and hydrated and for only $15, I keep buying it over and over again!
Technically, this was a gift I received this year and not a purchase I made, however, I have since purchased a couple to gift to people in my life. I am the queen of taking photos and never developing them, so this digital photo frame that we have in our kitchen has been a highlight of the year. Every time I’m in the kitchen [which is often] I get to re-live so many memories from over the years. What’s even cooler is that my parents, mother-in-law, and sister all have an Aura frame as well so we can all add photos and video to each other’s frames through the app which is super easy to use! It’s such a fun way to stay connected with the entire family!
I love when I venture outside of my normal genres and love what I discover. The Women is a historical fiction book about the Vietnam War – it follows a woman, Frankie, as she travels over to Vietnam to be a nurse. While the story is gut-wrenching on so many levels as you read about the encounters, it’s also such an eye-opening and inspiring story that will alter your perspective!
If you haven’t played this yet, believe me when I tell you it’s such a fun one! It’s even more fun if you had $1 or $5 bills into the mix! We played this over the course of the year with family and friends and every single person has enjoyed it – especially those who have won the pot 😉
Radley Sectional // See all Radley Sectional Styles
This was the year of finishing the bunk room at the lake [you can see how it all turned out here!] and this sectional has been such a personal and guest favorite! Added perk: it’s always on sale!
Technically I bought this in 2023, however, 2024 was the year of using it to our max potential. This portable TV [it’s on wheels and rolls around] does it all — from streaming live TV to Netflix, using the internet [great for recipes in the kitchen], using it for work presentations in the office, Shawn uses it every single day in his office and when we were in the hospital for a month, we rolled it right into our room and had it there for us the entire time! It is a splurge but it’s a fun one!
I just got this within the last week of the year and I can already tell you it’s one of my favorite things I own now. I love that it gathers so much data, right at your fingertips [literally]. From tracking my daily activity [steps, calories burned], to sleep, my heart rate, stress levels, readiness level for the day, menstrual cycle [I love that it tells me when I’m fertile and not based on my body temperature], oxygen levels, and more! It truly does it all and I don’t find the ring to be too bulky or heavy!
2024 – you’ll forever go down as one of the most challenging yet rewarding years of my life. I couldn’t be more grateful for what this year gave to me and taught me – mostly about love. Real, genuine, unconditional, never not going to love you, type of love. And it’s the best gift I could have ever dreamed of. Cheers to an amazing year – I can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store!
