The Detroit Pistons have struggled to be competitive for some time, though the team finally has a new star in Cade Cunningham to build around.
The Pistons of old had guards lead the team to championships, and Cunningham appears next in line to try to save the franchise from more years of losing.
Detroit has a storied history, dating to its championship days of the 1980s when they were led by Isiah Thomas.
The Hall of Famer is widely considered to be one of the best point guards of all time after making numerous All-Star appearances and leading the “Bad Boys” to consecutive titles in 1989 and 1990.
Nowadays, Thomas serves as an analyst for NBA TV, though recently missed time due to a health issue.
He recently returned to the studio and thanked everyone who wished him well during his time away.
“I just want to say thank you to all of you who have supported me during this past month,” Thomas said, via NBA TV.

Thomas previously revealed that he was dealing with Bell’s palsy, a neurological condition that causes temporary weakness or paralysis on one side of a person’s face.
He explained that was the reason his mouth began to droop, although it now appears he’s healthy enough to return to live television.
It’s good to see Thomas back in the studio as he offers great insight into the game, so hopefully he’s able to stay healthy and not miss any more time.
