Vancouver will come back from Christmas break shorthanded as they look to maintain their standings in the Pacific division.
Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet told reporters on Saturday that captain Quinn Hughes and forward Elias Pettersson are both out for Saturday’s game against the Seattle Kraken.
Hughes played after being a game-time decision for the Canucks’ last game on Monday against the San Jose Sharks.
Pettersson was injured in the same contest against the Sharks and left the bench early in the third period.
Hughes (42 points) and Pettersson (28 points) are first and second in scoring for the Canucks this season.
The Canucks are currently 17-10-7 and sit in fourth place in the Pacific. They’re coming off a win over the Sharks.
You can watch the Canucks-Kraken game Saturday at 4 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. PT on Sportsnet or Sportsnet+.
