The Chicago Bears became the third team to fire their head coach this season, moving on from Matt Eberflus after the team’s 23-20 loss on Thanksgiving Day.
The Bears’ coaching vacancy should draw significant interest around the league, especially from previous head coaches looking for an opportunity to mold a potential franchise quarterback like Caleb Williams.
Would it be enough to entice existing head coaches to leave their current franchise, too?
According to former quarterback and analyst Chase Daniel, it could be.
Daniel pointed to Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy as an existing coach who could be open to the challenges and benefits that await the Bears’ next head man.
“I think a fascinating choice for Mike, and hopefully he’s looking into this, would be the Chicago Bears,” Daniel said.
People don’t realize that Mike McCarthy is actually a free agent & can sign anywhere…are we SURE he wants to go back to Dallas?
The Chicago Bears should be lurking around…it may sound crazy, but hear me out.

Daniel listed the benefits he sees for McCarthy to jump ship, including the coach’s knowledge of the NFC North from his time with the Green Bay Packers.
Another benefit would be to leave the “crazy owner” situation he has with the Cowboys, Daniel said.
With McCarthy coaching without a contract for next season, Daniel said the head coach has all of the power in this situation and could make a decision to leave Dallas after the season.
“I can imagine Mike McCarthy and Caleb Williams together. It makes sense,” Daniel said.
