The Cowboys got some icing on the cake of an already disappointing season.
Dallas wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is set to miss the remainder of the season after it was determined his shoulder injury hasn’t improved enough to bring him back for the final two games, the team announced Thursday.
The team added that he will undergo a process of treatment and rehabilitation for the injury and it is not expected that he will require surgery. Lamb is projected to make a full recovery, but a timeline was not provided.
He did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday.
Despite suffering the initial injury in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons, Lamb has yet to miss any time, suiting up for all 15 of the Cowboys’ games this season.
The 25-year-old has endured a drop off in production this season, tallying 101 receptions for 1,194 yards and six touchdowns compared to his 135 catches for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns last year.
The Cowboys (7-8) are gearing up for a division matchup against the rival Philadelphia Eagles (12-3) in Week 17. They have already been eliminated from post-season contention.
