Rob Gronkowski Predicts How Long Travis Kelce Will Play

The Kansas City Chiefs are dominating yet another season, boasting a stellar 14-1 record, an AFC West title in hand, and control of the No. 1 playoff seed.

But there’s an interesting storyline developing around their star tight end Travis Kelce.

At 35, Kelce’s still putting up impressive numbers – 89 receptions, 739 yards, and 2 touchdowns in 2024.

Despite what some might call a dip in production, Kelce continues to showcase his elite talent for the championship-contending Chiefs.

The question on everyone’s mind: how much longer can he maintain this level of play?

Rob Gronkowski, who hung up his cleats after the 2021 season with a strong claim to being the greatest tight end ever, recently shared his thoughts on Kelce’s future.

During a recent appearance on Kay Adams’ Up & Adams football morning show, Gronkowski offered an interesting perspective on the parallels between his career and Kelce’s current situation.

“I believe he can go AT LEAST another 2 years. We’re talking about his stats being down… How are your stats down if you have 80 plus catches at 35 years old??” Gronkowski emphasized.

While some point to Kelce’s numbers being “down” this season, Gronk wasn’t buying that narrative.

Now three years into retirement at 35, Gronk has carved out a new role as an NFL analyst for Fox.

While Kelce may have lost a step as he approaches his late 30s, he’s aging more gracefully than most NFL veterans.

His success isn’t just about pure athleticism anymore – it’s his football intelligence, reliable hands, and physical strength that keep him among the league’s elite tight ends.

The numbers back this up: he ranks 3rd in receptions and 5th in receiving yards. Though his touchdown count sits at just two this season, Kelce remains one of the NFL’s most feared offensive weapons at his position.
