After some productive time away in the G-League, Bronny James is coming back.

On Monday morning, Marc Stein reported, via Legion Hoops, that the Los Angeles Lakers have called up Bronny James for Monday night’s game against the Detroit Pistons.

Stein wrote:

“The unanimous view I heard from watching scouts at the Showcase is that James needs as much time as he can get in the G League to improve all aspects of his point guard play, from his floor game to (especially) his ability to make shots.”

It’s not clear if James will actually play in Monday’s game, but the fact that he will at least be back on the bench is a sign that the Lakers like what they have seen from James over the last several weeks.

The response online was mostly positive.

A lot of people said they still believe James has what it takes to make it in the NBA as long as he is willing to work hard and prove he has the fight in him.

Others were already giving advice to the Lakers about how to use James, although head coach JJ Redick probably already has a plan for him.

There are many people excited to see James back with the Lakers, especially since he has been doing very well in the G-League recently.

He has had multiple breakout games and is looking much better than when he participated with the Lakers at the start of the season.

His current season average is just 0.6 points, 0.1 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per game on a 12.5 field goal percentage.

There are some fans who feel James should remain in the G-League.

They think he needs to keep enhancing his skills and fear it’s too soon to have him back alongside LeBron James and the rest of the Lakers squad.

James has been proving himself in the G-League and he may have a chance to do that on a much bigger stage Monday night.

Is this the start of a new, exciting chapter for the rookie?
