Years ago, NFL scouts ignored Brock Purdy’s numbers and focused on his build.
He was Mr. Irrelevant and seemed unlikely to ever play a snap in the league, at least as a starter.
Even though he’s bulked up a little and worked on his game, his physical limitations are still glaring.
That’s why Chase Senior is worried about him going forward.
Following the loss to the Miami Dolphins, he pointed out that Purdy’s lack of size and arm strength has always been a concern, so he has to make up for that with good decision-making, which hasn’t been the case in the last two games.
The Niners were in a position to win vs. the Dolphins and the Los Angeles Rams, yet Purdy’s late-game execution left plenty to be desired.
THIS is Brock Purdy’s BIGGEST issue…
In back to back games, Purdy has thrown game-ending interceptions. Since he lacks physical tools (arm strength and size) he has to make up for that by making good decisions with the football and in the last two losses, he hasn’t. #49ers pic.twitter.com/Wn9z5UMkWx

We’ve seen countless players outgrow and outplay their draft stock.
Drafting isn’t an exact science, and some intangibles just cannot be measured.
That being said, there are some things that players cannot change.
Purdy can’t become taller all of a sudden.
The Niners have a big decision about their quarterback in the offseason.
They don’t have a lot of available money, and they need to address several positions on the roster.
Purdy will reportedly demand a big-money contract, and even though he’s been very successful in the past, there are still some valid reasons to be worried about him and whether they should give him that kind of deal.
