Brock Purdy’s Christmas Gifts For Offensive Linemen Are Going Viral

The NFL has a longstanding tradition where quarterbacks get grandiose gifts for their offensive linemen.

Not every quarterback participates, but many of them do, showing support to the people who block for them every week.

These gifts tend to find themselves on social media, as teams like to showcase how generous their quarterbacks are to their teammates.

Patrick Mahomes, for example, recently got all of his offensive linemen several gifts, including Rolexes and Chiefs-red Yeti coolers.

Brock Purdy gave the San Francisco 49ers’ linemen some larger gifts, as the team’s X account shared on December 19th.

Each lineman received a new Toyota vehicle, which Purdy seemed happy to give out.

This clip might have gone more viral than Mahomes’, mainly because Purdy currently makes less than a million dollars annually.

He is slated to get a contract extension in the offseason, but with his current salary in mind, fans were skeptical that he could afford all of these cars.

Purdy does have a sponsorship with Toyota, so the car company could have written off these vehicles as a marketing expense, seeing how much exposure they’ve already gotten via social media.

Regardless of who purchased these vehicles, this is just another example of a quarterback gift to their offensive linemen.

Without a strong offensive line, players tend to get hurt and be less efficient, so in their minds, treating them right, especially around the holidays, is in their best interest.

It will be interesting to see what gifts other quarterbacks around the league get their offensive linemen as Christmas approaches.
