The Denver Nuggets are two years removed from winning the NBA Finals.
They were a playoff team last year, and while they’ve played well this year, the Nuggets are looking for another roster piece to help their chances of getting back to the Finals.
Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray remain their top two options, but if they added a third star, this team could take a necessary step forward to get closer to contention.
While several players are on the Nuggets’ radar, NBA analyst Tony Jones highlighted one player that is seemingly on the top of their list.
“League sources say the focus on Zach LaVine in recent discussions is significant,” Jones said.
Denver has discussed potential moves for Zach LaVine, Jordan Poole, Jonas Valančiūnas, Jordan Clarkson, De’Andre Hunter, and Cam Johnson, per @Tjonesonthenba @sam_amick

LaVine is a veteran in his 11th NBA season, and most of his tenure has been with the Chicago Bulls.
He is a key piece to the Bulls’ success at the moment, but with the Bulls struggling to stay over .500, he could be looking for a new team, hoping to secure the first ring of his career.
A trade to the Nuggets could be beneficial for all parties involved.
The Nuggets would get a third star player, LaVine would get a better chance at securing an NBA title, and the Bulls could get players or picks that could help their chances of growing the roster in 2025 and beyond.
The trade deadline isn’t until Feb 6th, so both sides have plenty of time to make a decision.
But, making a deal sooner than later could be in the Nuggets’ best interest, giving LaVine plenty of time to mesh with his new teammates ahead of the playoffs.
