The Kansas City Chiefs got a rare easy win on Sunday when they downed the Cleveland Browns, 21-7, and with the Detroit Lions losing to the Buffalo Bills, they now have sole possession of the NFL’s best record at 13-1.
Their final three games of the regular season will be against the Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos, and one has to think their goal right now is to clinch home-field advantage through the AFC Championship Game.
On Monday, they made a move by cutting running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, a player who played a role in them winning the last two Super Bowl championships but hasn’t played at all this year.
He took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to thank the Chiefs and their fans.
Love ya KC! A family I didn’t know I needed, y’all made a Kid from Baton Rouge dreams come true!
To Chiefs Kingdom , its all love and the support I had in troubling times will forever be unmatched from you guys! With love! ❤️ 💛-Clydro ✌🏾

In four seasons with the Chiefs, Edwards-Helaire, whom they took with the No. 32 pick in the 2020 draft, has contributed 1,845 yards, 12 rushing touchdowns and 89 catches for 765 yards and seven touchdowns.
His production and snap count have gradually decreased since his rookie year, and he has been gradually supplanted by Isiah Pacheco.
Kansas City put Edwards-Helaire on the non-football illness list before this season started, and it was around that time that he revealed he’s been dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
After fracturing his fibula in Week 2 this year, Pacheco has been back for the Chiefs’ last three games, with Kareem Hunt, whom they signed in September, backing him up.
