The Los Angeles Lakers finally got their best player back.
LeBron James took a leave of absence with J.J. Redick even admitting that he didn’t know when he would return.
Needless to say, there was a lot of speculation regarding this move, and James drew plenty of criticism for how he unilaterally decided to deal with the situation.
James got back on the court in the win vs. the Memphis Grizzlies.
He didn’t look explosive, barely driving to the rim and mostly settling for jump shots.
While that might have something to do with his age, that foot injury could still be lingering.
When asked about that, the veteran claimed that the foot injury will continue to linger, adding that he was able to do some good things during the break (via Jovan Buha & Legion Hoops).
LeBron on his foot injury:
“It’s an every day thing… But I was able to do some great things (on my break).”

That most likely means James will have to miss more time along the way this season.
Granted, that’s not a surprise, as he’s about to turn 40 and has played at the highest level for well over two decades.
If there’s a silver lining about the Lakers’ struggles this season, they’re not likely to be playing in the playoffs, so James will have plenty of time to recover his body.
All signs point to this as James’ last dance in the Association.
It’s been an incredible run for the four-time NBA champion, and he’s earned the right to get some rest after everything he’s accomplished.
