Insider Reveals What Offseason Plan Should Be For Patriots

The New England Patriots were confident heading into the 2024 season.

They were equipped with a new head coach and a rookie quarterback, hoping both additions would help the team find better results than the previous years.

While Drake Maye’s development has been positive, the Patriots haven’t quite found the secret sauce to put themselves in the win column many times this year.

Jerod Mayo’s future with the team is unclear, but every report from the Patriots’ camp indicates that Maye will be their guy at quarterback for the foreseeable future.

With that in mind, Albert Breer outlined on social media what the team’s next order of business should be in the offseason.

Breer indicated that the front office should leave no stone unturned when looking for players to help Maye get better, starting with their offensive line.

In Breer’s eyes, the offensive line needs at least three upgrades for Maye to feel comfortable moving forward, leaving the team with a lot of work to do over the next several months.

The current regime leaves Maye little time in the pocket, which doesn’t give any quarterback much confidence, especially a rookie.

He could also use additional skill-position players to throw to, but that is a secondary need.

If he doesn’t have enough time to throw the ball, it wouldn’t matter if Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase were his two best receivers.

The Patriots were once viewed as one of the best teams in the league, but it appears they are a ways away from holding that title.
