The New York Jets have a lot of things to figure out right now.
The most important one, however, might not even have to do with their players.
They need someone to call the shots and lead the way, meaning they must hire a new general manager as soon as possible.
There will be no shortage of options for the position.
With that in mind, team owner Woody Johnson could turn to a former player for input.
According to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN, former player Louis Riddick is one of the candidates for the position.
Jets GM interviews kick off this week and a thorough search will include former Titans GM Jon Robinson and ESPN analyst Louis Riddick.

Riddick, who currently works as an ESPN analyst, played in the league for six years.
He also has some experience in the front office, serving as a pro scout and director of player personnel for the Washington Redskins (now Commanders) and Philadelphia Eagles.
Riddick has been away from the front office since 2013.
The Jets have one of the most talented rosters in the league, but fixing their situation will be challenging.
For starters, they need to find the right head coach to turn things around.
Then, they must decide about Aaron Rodgers’ future, who might not even want to be there for much longer.
They’re not far off from being a playoff-caliber team or even a legitimate Super Bowl contender, and this upcoming offseason will be crucial to either making or breaking them for years to come.
