The Detroit Lions have established themselves as the clear favorites to represent the NFC in Super Bowl LIX.
They’ve won several games in multiple ways, a sign of a championship-caliber team.
The Lions picked up a crucial victory over the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football to kick off Week 14.
It was a thrilling game that ended in Detroit’s favor, as they took home a 34-31 victory.
It was a back-and-forth affair, with Green Bay threatening to force the game into overtime thanks to timely plays from Jordan Love and Josh Jacobs.
However, Jared Goff and company were able to get the job done in the final minute, getting the team into field goal range for the game-winning kick.
Head coach Dan Campbell has become known for his aggressiveness on fourth downs, and he made another gutsy call late in the game, going for it on fourth-and-inches to prevent the Packers from taking the football again.
While the move ultimately paid off, analysts like Bill Cowher called for Campbell to trust his defense more via NFL on CBS.
“At some point, you have to trust that defense. You have to trust Aaron Glenn,” Cowher said.

Cowher argues that Campbell is doing well being aggressive in certain spots but warns that there will be times when it’s better to let the defense handle things.
Defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn has done an excellent job getting his players organized this season, and their moment will come sooner rather than later.
