Spotify has added a host of new features to its yearly Wrapped event including artist clips and a new AI podcast based on your “best of 2024.”

While Apple Music’s top song was Not Like Us by Kendrick Lamar, Spotify’s was Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso. The company said its eight most-streamed albums were also produced by women for the first time.

With the addition of audiobooks in the past year, Wrapped now includes info on the books you’ve listened to, in addition to podcasts. The package also incorporates custom clips from artists and podcasters thanking fans for their support.

Building on last year’s AI DJ, Spotify has collaborated with Google to produce the AI podcast. The new audio feature has two voices that discuss your most-listened to songs and — based on a brief demo at an event in New York — also flatters your taste in music.

To access the personalized podcast go to the top menu of the mobile app and select Wrapped > AI Podcast. It’s worth noting that it’s short — there’s no music — and it’s simply the two “hosts” reading your stats.

Wrapped is Spotify’s way of aggregating global streaming data across the globe, and the company announced its Top Artist for the second year in a row was Taylor Swift. As a result, the company has included Wrapped Easter Eggs for Swifties including custom animations based on each of her Eras.

Spotify is a music streaming service with 252 million subscribers and over 100 million tracks. It also includes access to 15 hours of audiobooks as part of its $11 subscription tier. While competitors such as Apple and Amazon include lossless and spatial music — for no extra cost — Spotify has yet to announce a date for its long-delayed Supremium service.
