The 2024 season has been a challenging journey for the Las Vegas Raiders, but amid the struggles, Maxx Crosby remains a beacon of consistency.
Since joining the team in 2019, Crosby has been a defensive cornerstone, though this year has been slightly different from his usual dominant performances.
With 43 tackles and seven-and-a-half sacks so far, Crosby’s numbers might not be as eye-popping as previous seasons.
Yet, his impact continues to resonate. Associated Press Sports Writer Josh Dubow recently highlighted a remarkable statistic.
Crosby has played every defensive snap for six consecutive games, logging 387 straight snaps – the longest streak for a defensive lineman in the NextGen Stats era since 2016.
“Per NextGen stats from @zebrasports, #Raiders DE Maxx Crosby played every defensive snap (67) for a 6th straight game. His 387 straight snaps are longest streak for a DL in NGS era since 2016.” He wrote.

The Raiders’ defense hasn’t lived up to preseason expectations, and Crosby currently sits at No. 16 in the NFL for sacks – a position somewhat unusual for the star pass rusher.
Despite this, he continues to be a critical defensive force, creating opportunities for his teammates to make their mark.
With a record of 2-10 and eight consecutive losses, the team finds itself in a familiar tough spot. After a surprising late-season surge under Coach Antonio Pierce last year, hopes were high for 2024.
Now, the Raiders share the league’s worst record with the New York Giants and hold the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Raider Nation is understandably focused on that potential draft pick, but Crosby’s relentless effort suggests the team has foundational talent to build upon.
As the season winds down, his consistent performance offers a glimmer of hope for future turnaround.
