The New York Jets’ nightmare season continued when they blew a fourth-quarter lead and lost to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 13.
The Jets now hold a 3-9 record on the season, and their fans are likely hoping that the team will tank in order to claim a better pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
However, there was one bright spot in the most recent loss, and the player is being rewarded with a roster move.
“Jets sign RB Kene Nwangwu to active roster from practice squad, cut RB Israel Abanikanda,” Around The NFL wrote on X.

Nwangwu made a mark in his Jets debut, returning a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown and totaling 157 yards on three returns.
In 38 NFL games, including three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, he has posted 2,036 yards and four touchdowns on 71 kickoff returns.
He also has totals of 88 rushing yards on 27 carries and 30 receiving yards on six receptions as a running back.
The Jets’ roster could look a lot different next season, and those changes could start at the quarterback position.
Aaron Rodgers reportedly isn’t sure if he wants to remain with the team, and any discussion of what they could and should do this offseason has to begin with his status.
His tenure with the Jets has been a huge disappointment, and it has become clear that after tearing his Achilles on their first offensive series in Week 1 of last season, he just isn’t the same player that he was while with the Green Bay Packers.
